There, evacuees from Afghanistan wait for their papers to enter Germany.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project progress:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of February, one of our medics flew to Islamabad to support the Kabul Luftbr\u00fccke team. Kabul Luftbr\u00fccke is a civilian organization that has been working to evacuate vulnerable individuals from Afghanistan and assist them in applying for asylum since the Taliban took over in August 2021. The evacuees are first flown from Kabul to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, where they wait for the necessary paperwork to continue their journey. In Islamabad, Corona is currently very present, and few countermeasures are being taken.
