Short description: Between Christmas and New Year we supported the local initiative Grupa Granica with donations in kind and a small support team.
Project Progress:
Several weeks before the mission, CADUS was already in contact with Grupa Granica to determine the need for specific medical and communication equipment. During the Christmas holidays, the group needed not only material support but also medical professionals. A Medic and another CADUS staff member headed to the border to support the local initiative there.
Our Medic was mainly on site to be able to medically examine refugees hiding in the forest there trying to get across the border when alerted by the local network.

Balkan Response – getting closer towards our Bosnia Response, putting Lesvos on hold
We finished our preparations for our mission in Bosnia. Disillusionment with our returned team from Lesbos at the same time.
ER Balkan: Erstes Team auf Lesbos
Neben dem geplanten Einsatz in Bosnien umfasst unsere Emergency Response Balkan noch eine weitere wichtige Aufgabe – die medizinische Versorgung von Geflüchteten auf der griechischen Insel Lesbos. Unser erstes Team ist dort bereits gestern angekommen und wird umgehend mit der Arbeit beginnen.
Neue Mission gestartet: Emergency Response Balkan
Noch immer harren tausende Flüchtlinge, darunter Alte, Kinder und Schwangere, auf der sogenannten Balkanroute und auf Lesbos, Griechenland aus. Sie sind die Opfer der verfehlten Flüchtlingspolitik Europas und sitzen zum Teil seit Jahren unter schlechtesten Bedingungen in Camps fest. Mit dem einsetzenden Winter …
