Training and Education

Welcome to CADUS Training

Facing Crises—Together, in Solidarity, and Well-Prepared

Since CADUS’s inception, knowledge transfer and hands-on training have been a central part of our work. Education and training have been at the heart of CADUS’s work since its founding. Training of all kinds is a central aspect of our work, both in international crisis zones and in local contexts.

Whether in international crisis zones or in our local communities—our goal is to be able to take action and to empower others to do the same. From emergency medical aid to technical solutions and logistics, to security strategies and crisis preparedness based on solidarity: Our training programs are as diverse as our missions. CADUS training programs are currently undergoing a phase of further development and professionalization.

We are expanding our offerings, developing new formats, and creating long-term structures—with the goal of making our content even more accessible, effective, and sustainable. At the core, our approach remains the same: practical, based on solidarity, and empowering.

Our training programs combine medical expertise, technical skills, strategic thinking, and political reflection. Whether it’s first aid in crisis situations, technical self-reliance, resilient communication structures, or coping with psychological stress—we focus on real-world challenges: those we encounter during our missions, as well as the experiences and needs of our communities.

You can read about how we put our training into practice in the field—using Ukraine as an example— on our blog.

Current Training Sessions

Here you’ll find an overview of our current training formats. Since many things are still in the works and evolving, new content and structures are being added all the time—it’s worth checking back regularly!

Our HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) prepares all those who want to go into action for us for work in unstable and dangerous regions. If capacity is available, the training is also open to external persons.

At CADUS, we see training as an essential part of our work – not only to impart knowledge, but also to strengthen capacities on the ground. Our infield training courses are practice-oriented and tailored to the real challenges in crisis regions. They offer participants the opportunity to learn and apply skills and abilities directly on site.

Our Vision: A CADUS Training Center

Solidarity: We believe that we can only face crises by working together and being well-prepared. That’s why we’re planning to establish our own CADUS training center—a place for hands-on learning, transdisciplinary exchange, and solidarity-based networking. A space where people can come together, share skills, and develop new perspectives. We’re building it step by step—with your support.
