"In Erbil wurden gestern überall Feuer angezündet", berichtet Fee. "Der Himmel war schwarz. Das ist ein bisschen wie unser traditionelles Osterfeuer im Grunde. Nur dass hier bei der Gelegenheit auch gleich etwas Müll mit verbrannt wird. Heute sind hier in Erbil alle picknicken gegangen." Weil sie aber so viel mit den Vorbereitungen für den Weitertransport des Mobile Hospital nach Syrien zu tun hat, schafft es die CADUS Regional Managerin aber leider nicht zu den offiziellen Feiern. So friedlich laufen die Feierlichkeiten offenbar nicht überall ab. Aus Kirkuk erreicht Fee ein anonymes, virales Video, dass zeigt, wie irakische Security Forces mit Warnschüssen auf die feiernden Menschen in den Strassen reagieren. Good news from Sere Kanyie
It has been almost a year since our first training team in Rojava visited the border town of Sere Kaniye (Ras al Ain) and its local hospital. The city was occupied by the so-called Islamic State until the Kurdish YPG/YPJ forces liberated it in 2013.
