Due to the current security situation, we were forced to withdraw our international team from northern Syria. Our projects in al-Hol and Raqqa continue with our local staff.
Leaving our partner Heyva Sor behind was a difficult decision for us. But it is not clear how Assad's forces will behave towards foreign members of international organizations.
We will not give up!
The evacuation has coincided with our planned shift change, the next team is in Erbil ready for deployment. As soon as the situation permits, we can immediately assist in northern Syria with our team.
In the meantime, we support Heyva Sor financially, among other things, and are looking for ways to use our team in Iraq to care for refugees. We are in our thoughts and stand in solidarity with our courageous friends of Heyva Sor and our colleagues in northern Syria/Rojava, who, despite an uncertain future, do everything to help people.
Support our hospital, support our clinic, support our emergency aid.
