Log Files When Accessing Our Forum

When you use the forum, log files are created to analyze errors and security incidents. We use the data center of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, to operate our forum. The log files are stored there.

Data Processing in the Course of Our Work

Member data (name, email address, area of responsibility, and any other personally provided information) is processed by the respective officers of our forum solely for the purpose of fulfilling the duties assigned to them. Specifically, this means:

If CADUS employees need forum member data to perform their duties, they may access all member data necessary for this purpose. These duties include, in particular, compiling a list of this forum’s users so that they can be contacted for further activities within the context of our organization.

The purpose of processing member data is to further the objectives of the CADUS association and to manage its affairs. The legal basis is participation in tasks defined by CADUS in the context of providing volunteer or full-time support to CADUS (see also Article 6, paragraph 1(b) of the GDPR).

Data Storage

Current membership data is stored for the duration of membership in the forum and for an additional 3 years thereafter.

Rights of Affected Individuals

If we process your personal data, you have the following rights as a data subject:

  • the right to access the processed data and to receive a copy,
  • the right to have your data corrected if we process incorrect information about you,
  • a right to erasure, unless exceptions apply that explain why we still store the data—such as retention requirements or statutes of limitations
  • the right to restrict processing,
  • the right to withdraw consent to data processing at any time,
  • the right to object to processing based on a public interest or a legitimate interest,
  • the right to data portability,
  • the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that we are not processing your data properly. The Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information has jurisdiction over our association. However, if you reside in another federal state or outside of Germany, you may also contact the data protection authority in that jurisdiction.
