Infield Logistician (Volunteer)

As a humanitarian organization, CADUS has been working in Ukraine since March ’22 to support local capacities in their emergency relief operations. In the current program, CADUS is focusing on complementing existing MedEvac capacities and provides medical training to local professionals and volunteers. As a staff member in this project, doctors, nurses and paramedics work together with staff from our local partner organizations within the field of medical evacuations.

Being the logistician in the field, you will work in close coordination with the team leads on site and the project management in Berlin. In addition, this position gives you the opportunity to explore your areas of interest and to learn and make a special contribution to them.

Job description Logistician (in-field)

As part of this team, you will support all logistical concerns and processes arising from the implementation of CADUS’ emergency response program in Ukraine. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support supply chain management
  • Support and cooperation in matters with customs
  • Management and logistics of infrastructure on the ground (vehicle fleet,
    accommodation, material)
  • Supply management
  • Supporting necessary procurement processes
  • Coordination with Berlin-based logistics

You are also expected to support the team with daily routine work and administrative processes as upon request.

Your qualifications

  • Willingness and interest in supporting logistics processes throughout the
    logistics-cycle
  • Experience or degree in the field of logistics, supply chain management or related
    is an asset
  • Very high degree of flexibility in taking on tasks and assignments
  • Previous experiences in humanitarian contexts is an asset
  • You enjoy organizational tasks and bring along a high degree service orientation
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles and strong commitment to our Code of
    Conduct.
  • Availability for at least 6 months
  • Experience in remote medicine and/ or conflict zones preferred
  • High level of teamwork, frustration tolerance and acceptance of existing
    assignment structures
  • Complete Covid-19 vaccination (currently three vaccinations) + standard
    vaccinations recommended by the STIKO
  • Passport valid for another 6 months on arrival
  • International driving license class B
  • A completed Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) is an advantage.
