Medical Professional (in-field)

Over two years since the commencement of the conflict in Ukraine, the humanitarian needs in the country remain substantial. The displacement of civilians and the demand for humanitarian assistance are of immense scale. As a humanitarian organization, CADUS has been actively involved in Ukraine since March ’22, supporting local capacities in emergency response. In our ongoing program, CADUS focuses on complementing existing MedEvac capabilities and additionally emphasizes the medical training of local professionals and volunteers. In this project, medical doctors and emergency medical personnel collaborate with our partner organizations to enhance the capacity of medical evacuation.

Contract Duration: As soon as possible, 2 months (start date around May/June)
Compensation: Attractive compensation, based upon Wage Agreement for Public Service
Work Location: Berlin (Germany), with time spent in Ukraine (Ternopil, Dnipro, Kyiv)
Languages: English (fluent), Ukrainian/Russian advantageous

Position Medical Professionals (in-field)
As part of the medical instructor team of CADUS, your role encompasses a variety of significant responsibilities. You’ll be tasked with organizing, establishing, and executing a well-defined plan for medical (infield) trainings, specifically focused on mechanical ventilation, trauma management and mass casualty incident management. This position also includes the development of appropriate curricula and materials together with the Backoffice in Berlin. Moreover, you’ll play a pivotal role in onboarding and providing ongoing support to volunteers engaged in medical training.

Your Qualifications

  • Doctor, Nurse Paramedic with experience in teaching/training
  • Comfortable with teaching in English (preferred: Language certificate C1 or working experience in an English-speaking country)
  • Experience working in humanitarian organizations/austere environments
  • Experience working with interpreters
  • Driving license
  • Familiarity with humanitarian principles and strong alignment with our code of conduct.
  • High degree of teamwork, resilience, and acceptance of existing deployment structures.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination coverage (currently three doses) + STIKO recommended standard vaccinations.
